Work Share Oregon Resources for NWRESD Staff

NWRESD is implementing several furlough days for most employees, starting May 15. Qualifying employees will have their hours and pay reduced by 20% to be eligible for unemployment and federal CARES Act funds through Work Share. Unemployment benefits plus access to CARES Act funds ($600/person/week) will mean no net loss of income and have no impact on benefits; in fact, most eligible employees will see an increase in compensation during eligible weeks. We anticipate this strategy to save NWRESD more than $1 million dollars, protecting critical staff positions, programs and services for next school year. |
